Three local brewers pick up awards

Local brewers picked up a total of 11 awards at this year's Ontario Brewing Awards.

Walkerville Brewery came away with six awards including four golds for their Purity Pilsener, Waterfront Wit, Kremlin Russian Imperial Stout, and Easy Stout.

The Windsor brewer also won bronze for Honest Lager, and Geronimo IPA.

"We are really proud of these awards, and the continued hard work of our brewing staff," said co-owner of Walkerville Brewery Ian Gourlay.

The Frank Brewing Company earned the gold in the Blonde Ale category for Bombshell.

In Kingsville, the Grove Brew House can proudly display four awards of their own.

Paradise Lager earned the silver in the Craft Lager category, while the Clubhouse Stout won a silver in the Stout. It's 1933 Marzen won the bronze for Oktoberfest/Marzen, and in the American Brown Ale category, the Workhorse Brown Ale also won bronze.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
