OPP investigate body found in Lake Erie

The Ontario Provincial Police have scheduled a post mortem examination on a body found over the weekend in Lake Erie.

The body was found around 7 p.m. Sunday floating in the water near the beach not far from the municipal dock at the end of Erie Street South in Leamington.

Police have not released the victim's name. They are still trying to notify the next of kin, but ask anyone with information to call them.

The investigation is ongoing, but investigators do not believe the death is suspicious.
