Tecumseh teen facing arson charges

A teen from Tecumseh is facing arson charges after allegedly setting two fires in the municipality Tuesday night.

The Tecumseh Fire Service responded to the first fire in a garbage can at a town park around 7:45 p.m. on September 24, 2019. They were called to a second fire in a dumpster at a grade school on Brenda Crescent around 8 p.m.

The Ontario Provincial Police investigated and charged a 16-year-old with two counts of arson.

Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the youth cannot be identified. The youth has been released and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
