Teen faces aggravated assault charges after stabbing

A 19-year-old is facing a charge after a stabbing in Windsor Thursday night.

Police responded to a call of a fight on Wyandotte St. near Hall Ave. around 9:30 pm. They found an injured person who was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers interviewed witnesses and determined the victim and the suspect are known to each other. They say the two were fighting when the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim.

After canvassing the area, investigators seized a knife near the scene of the crime.

Around 10 p.m. the suspect was arrested. David Amyotte, 19, is charged with aggravated assault. The charge has not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
