Spitfires fall to Otters 6-3

The Erie Otters defeated the Windsor Spitfires 6-3 at the Erie Insurance Arena on Saturday night.

The Otters' Daniel D'Amato scored the first goal of the period at 3:28. Kyle McDonald scored for the Spitfires tying up the game at 10:26. Jamie Drysdale broke the tie for Erie, scoring at 14:45, followed by a powerplay goal from Chad Yetman. Connor Corcoran was the first to score in the second period at 14:50 followed shortly by an insurance goal for the Otters from Kurtis Henry at 15:42 ending the second period at 4-2.

Yetman scored a power play goal to start off the third period. McDonald scored his second goal of the game 7:14 into the period.

Windsor Spitfires' goaltender Kari Piiroinen saved 24 out of 30 shots on net.

The Windsor Spitfires will face off against the Ottawa 67's at the WFCU centre on Thursday at 7:05 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
