The Windsor International Film Festival is less than a month away and organizers have announced a list of special guests that will join the festivities.
On Sunday, November 3 guests at WIFF can meet Oscar nominated director and producer Sturla Gunnarson who will make an appearance for the special screening of his Canadian documentary, Final Offer.
The documentary chronicals contract negotiations between the United Auto Workers and General Motors.
The screening is timely given the UAW is on strike at GM plants in the U.S. The workers walked off the job September 14 when their contract from 2015 expired.
Oscar nominated actor and television star Shohreh Aghdashloo will receive WIFF's 2019 Spotlight Award on Saturday, November 9. Aghashloo will sepak with audiences ahead of the screening of her new film Simple Wedding.
Also playing during WIFF, two more Aghdashloo films, House of Sand and Fog and The Stoning of Soraya M.
Aghdashloo recently also starred in the Amazon Prime series The Expanse.
Also on November 9, WIFF audiences will be treated to some fun with RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars champion, Trixie Mattel. She will host the screening of the cult drag-queen classic, The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.
Mattel will perform a ten-minute opening number and introduction to the film, and a 15-minute set afterwards.
Ticket holders are invited to the WIFF dance street party featuring popular drag queens.
WIFF's full schedule is expected to be announced on Thursday, October 10 at 10 a.m. The festival takes place from November 1 to November 10.
