UPDATE: Crews battle blaze on Drouillard Road

Windsor fire crews spent the morning at the scene of a fire on Drouillard Road near Franklin Street.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday, Windsor Fire and Rescue reported an upgraded fire in a commercial building. According to a post on their Twitter, they faced heavy smoke conditions on their arrival.

Around 10:15 a.m. they reported that the fire was under control but crews were still dealing with heavy smoke.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Investigator determined that the fire started in the basement area of the furnace and the cause remains undetermined.

No injuries are being reported. Total damage is estimated to be around $50,000 to the shop and $80,000 to a dwelling unit.
