Hogs for Hospice raises over half-a-million for Erie Shores Hospice

The Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington is getting a huge financial boost thanks to this year's Hogs for Hospice.

The three-day motorcycle rally in August raised $505,000.

The cheque was presented on Tuesday night at the Roma Club in Leamington.

About 2,000 motorcycle enthusiasts took part in the rally, which included a procession to the tip of Point Pelee National Park.

The event also included a custom bike show, bike games, motocross stunt shows, the OPP Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team, and a concert at Seacliffe Park Amphitheatre featuring Vince Neil of Motley Crue.

An earlier version of this story stated the money had been raised for Erie Shores Healthcare.  BlackburnNews.com regrets the error.
