New portal linking businesses to export opportunities

There's a new tool available to help local exporters connect with programs, trade missions, and networking events.

The Windsor Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Magnet Export to create an online platform for businesses called the Great Lakes Ready platform.

"It's a one-stop-shop to access export opportunities and opportunities to scale and grow. So it's anything from trade missions, funding programs, educational opportunities," said Emily Collins with Magnet Export.

The service is free for chamber members and can be found through the chamber website. To get started, companies fill out a simple questionnaire.

"When they hit submit they immediately start receiving a pipeline of information and opportunities from organizations like Export Development Canada, the Business Development Bank of Canada, Global Affairs Canada, and then the Ontario government," said Collins.

The technology from Magnet Export was originally created to match employers to job seekers but was retooled to match exporters with opportunities.
