Spitfires crush Greyhounds 10-2

The Windsor Spitfires defeated the Soo Greyhounds 10-2 on Saturday.

Soo's Tye Kartye kicked off the game with a goal 4:08 into the first period. Jean-Luc Foudy and Luke Boka scored two power play goals for the Spitfires. Daniel D'Amico then put the Spitfires in the lead by two. Boka scored his second goal of the game 19:16 into the frame.

Boka scored his third goal of the game, followed by the second goal by Foudy to start the second period. Cole Purboo scored the Spitfires' third power play goal 5:25 into the frame. Jaromir Pytlik scored for the Greyhounds 19:00 into the frame.

Connor Corcoran started the third period with a power play goal, which was followed by two more goals for Windsor scored by Matthew Maggio and a power play goal from Will Cuylle.

Windsor goalie Kari Piiroinen saved 18 out of 20 shots on net.

The Spitfires will face off against the North Bay Battalion on Saturday. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
