Crash leads to impaired driving charges

A Windsor man is facing a number of charges after allegedly stealing a car, driving it while impaired, and causing a multi-vehicle collision.

Around 11:20 a.m. Sunday, police were called to Banwell Road for a report of a vehicle theft that just occurred. Soon after, a vehicle matching the description of the stolen car was involved in a collision on Tecumseh Road East near Rossini Boulevard.

A man tried to run from the scene but was arrested by police. According to investigators, the man is alleged to have been in possession of narcotics and police believed he was under the influence of drugs.

Three vehicles, including the stolen one, were involved in the collision. The two other vehicles sustained heavy damage. Both drivers and a passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Devin Perry-Gagnon, 29, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
