Police say an elderly man was struck while walking on Tecumseh Road East near Lauzon Parkway around 6:23 p.m.
The man was sent to hospital in serious condition.
Police closed the eastbound lane of Tecumseh Road East from East Park to Lauzon Parkway for several hours to investigate.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
