Adventure Bay celebrating Universal Children's Day

Adventure Bay Family Water Park is celebrating Universal Children's Day with special programming to support children's health and well-being.

On Friday, November 15, the park will have special admission rates all day long. Entrance to the park is $5 for children and $10 for adults.

Michael Chantler, the assistant manager, said it's all in conjunction with the United Nations day to support children.

"In 1954 the United Nations recommended to countries that they find a day to acknowledge children and the importance of the child's well-being and certain rights that children should have," says Chantler.

In that vein, the City of Windsor planned a child-focused expo set up outside Adventure Bay featuring vendors for community groups, services and products geared toward children.

At 11 a.m. the Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex Branch will have a presentation for youth and parents on children's mental health.

Organizers are hoping to have a good turn out at the event as Friday is a PD Day for students.
