Spitfires defeated by IceDogs 3-2 in OT

The Windsor Spitfires were defeated by the Niagara IceDogs 3-2 in overtime on Saturday.

The Spitfires' Will Cuylle scored the first goal of the night 6:01 into the first period. IceDogs' Adrien Beraldo responded with a goal 14:04 into the frame.

Both teams failed to score in the second period.

Andrew Bruder put the IceDogs in the lead by one 5:35 into the third period. Cole Purboo scored tying up the game and forcing overtime.

The Ice Dogs' Ivan Lodina scored with one second left in overtime.

Windsor goalie Kari Piiroinen saved 34 out of 37 shots on net.

The Spitfires will face off against the Soo Greyhounds on Thursday. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
