Windsor man faces a lot of charges in Wawa

A Windsor man faces 25 criminal charges after an attempted break-in at a business near Wawa.

The Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Detachment responded to a theft at a business on Highway 17 the afternoon of November 16.

Officers did not have to go far to find a suspect. Shortly after they arrived, they spotted a man trying to break into a vehicle on the property.

Now 27-year-old Jordan McConnell is in police custody pending a bail hearing.

He faces the following charges:

  • four counts of failing to comply with recognizance
  • four counts of mischief
  • eight counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • careless storage of a firearm, prohibited device or ammunition
  • possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • possession of break-in instruments
  • possession of a schedule I substance
  • possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine
  • operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited
  • theft of a motor vehicle
  • trespassing at night
The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
