Work underway at Fort Malden National Historical Site

Parks Canada is making improvements at Fort Malden National Historic Site during the offseason.

The Brick Barrack is undergoing brick and stone repairs, masonry cleaning, window repairs, cedar shingle and rainwater drainage replacement. The access ramps are also being improved.

The Hough House has stone repairs, roof, window, door, and rainwater drainage work scheduled.

The work started last month and is expected to wrap in time for the 2020 visitor season.

The project is part of the most extensive infrastructure plan in the history of Parks Canada.

Since public safety is a priority for Parks Canada, visitors are asked to respect signage and work personnel on-site.
