Firefighters respond to garbage fire at university residence

Students are back in their suites after a minor fire at Alumni Hall, a University of Windsor residence, Wednesday afternoon.

A spokesperson from the university said the fire was contained to a garbage pail. The building was evacuated for a short time but students have since been allowed back in the building

Windsor fire crews said the fire was accidental and caused around $5,000 in damage.

No one was injured.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
