Goodfellows Paper Drive starts Thursday

Drivers might want to take a little extra care out on the roads in Windsor on Thursday morning.

The Goodfellows Paper Drive starts at 7 a.m.

There will be volunteers at all the major intersections across the city collecting donations in return for a copy of their newspaper.

They'll be out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this year.

The drive is a significant fundraiser for the Windsor Goodfellows, which provides Christmas meals and gifts to the less fortunate in the city. The money also helps fund school breakfast programs, buys shoes for children from low-income families, and food for the weekly food bank.

The foodbank operates throughout the year every Tuesday and Friday supporting thousands of families in the area.

If you want to apply for a Christmas meal box, there is still time to do so. The deadline to apply is December 6. Applicants will need their most recent income statement, including a child tax benefit statement, photo ID, and your current mailing address.

Goodfellows also accepts cash donations and unwrapped toys for children, which will be distributed with the Christmas meal boxes.
