IceDogs defeat Spitfires 3-2

The Niagara IceDogs defeated the Windsor Spitfires 3-2 at the WFCU Centre on Saturday.

Daniel D'Amico scored the first goal for the Spitfires on a power-play 7:38 into the first period. Cole Purboo scored the second goal of the frame.

Philip Tomasino scored for the IceDogs on a power-play 3:58 into the second period. Akil Thompson scored a power-play goal for the IceDogs tying up the game 7:36 into the frame.

Tomasino scored his second goal of the game, putting the IceDogs in the lead by one 1:23 into the third period.

Windsor goalie Xavier Medina saved 16 out of 19 shots on net.

The Spitfires will face off against the Kitchener Rangers at the WFCU Centre on Thursday. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
