Tim Hortons Smile Cookies raise $161,000 for local charity

Did you buy a Smile Cookie from Tim Hortons the week of September 16?

If you did, you helped support W.E. Care for Kids.

The campaign by the coffee giant supports charities in local communities each year, and this year chose W.E. Care for Kids in Windsor.

On Tuesday, Tim Hortons owners in Windsor presented the charity with a cheque for $161,398.

The volunteer organization raises money to support pediatric programs at Windsor Regional Hospital, John McGivney Children's Centre, the Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association, and the W.E. Care for Kids House at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.
