Windsor man facing assault charges

A Windsor man is facing charges after an assault in downtown Windsor.

Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday,  Windsor police were called to the area by a concerned citizen who reported a fight at a residence on Crawford Avenue between University Avenue and Wyandotte Street. Officers quickly located a suspect in the area wearing dark clothing, including a mask. He was taken into custody without incident. Police also seized methamphetamine from the suspect. The victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

James Lachine, 45, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, having a facemask with the intent of committing an offence, and possession of methamphetamine. The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
