Leamington man facing sexual assault charges

A Leamington man is facing sexual assault charges after an incident in a parking lot on November 24, 2019.

Around 11 p.m. a woman reported being approached in a parking lot where she was assaulted.

Police arrested Andrew Labute, 44, two days later. He is charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement, and criminal harassment. None of the charges have been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
