Storm double up Spitfires 6-3

The Guelph Storm blew away the Windsor Spitfires in a 6-3 victory on Friday.

The Sting scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the game before Daniel D'Amico put Windsor on the board with a goal 8:53 into the second period. Guelph responded with another goal 10:42 into the second frame to take a 3-1 lead, but Egor Afanasyev scored at the 11:42 mark to bring Windsor within one goal heading into the third.

The Storm added another two goals to their lead in the third before Tyler Angle was able to score the Spitfires' third goal of the night with just under three minutes left to play. The Storm capped off their win with one final goal with eight seconds left on the clock.

Windsor goaltender Xavier Medina made 21 saves out of 26 shots on net.

The Spitfires are on home ice on Sunday to face off against the London Knights at 2:05 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
