Two extricated following crash in Tecumseh

A crash in Tecumseh Monday afternoon has resulted in two people having to be removed from their vehicles.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue said it happened around 1 p.m. on Manning Road near Sylvestre Drive. Initial reports indicated that there were two vehicles involved and one person had to be extricated from one of them.

Authorities confirmed a short time later that both vehicles ended up in a ditch and two people had to be assisted from them. The Tecumseh fire department said they were being assessed on scene by Essex-Windsor EMS, though it was not clear if anyone was taken to hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police closed the northbound lanes of Manning Road. The vehicles were cleared from the scene and the lanes were reopening shortly after 2:15 p.m.
