Christmas Eve fire displaces seven

Seven people are without a place to live and two people have been taken to the hospital after a house fire on Cameron Avenue.

The blaze broke out around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on Cameron Avenue near Wyandotte Street West. The building was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. The fire started on the exterior front porch.

According to Windsor Fire's Twitter page, it took a little over an hour for the flames to be put out. Two people were taken to the hospital with minor smoke inhalation and seven residents were displaced as a result of the blaze.

Damage is pegged around $150,000 and the cause remains undetermined.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
