Recycle bin fire causes $75K in damage

A fire that started in a recycle bin is to blame for causing $75,000 worth of damage at a south Windsor home Friday afternoon.

The blaze broke out on Labelle Street near Sierra Drive and according to Windsor Fire, it started in a recycle box in the property's backyard. From there, the flames travelled through the eaves and spread into the home's attic.

The cause is being listed as accidental and no injuries are being reported.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
