Spitfires fall to Spirit 4-1

The Windsor Spitfires fell to the Saginaw Spirit 4-1 on Saturday.

Luke Boka started scored early in the game, scoring 2:41 into the first period for the Spitfires. DJ King tied up the game scoring 4:12 into the frame for the Spirit.

Mason Millman broke the tie putting the Spirit in the lead with a goal 8:54 into the second period.

Cole Perfetti extended the Spirit's lead with a goal 4:46 into the third period. Damien Giroux scored an empty net goal for the Spirit 17:50 into the frame.

Spitfires goalie Xavier Medina saved 37 out of 40 shots on net.

The Spitfires face off against the Flint Firebirds at the Dort Federal Event Centre on Sunday. Puck drops at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
