Suspect arrested in assault investigation

A person has been arrested in connection with an assault that closed Manning Road for a short period of time Wednesday.

The Ontario Provincial Police, along with EMS and Tecumseh Fire, responded to a call around 4:00 p.m. involving an assault with an edged weapon at a home on Manning Road near Walls Road. An adult victim was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived but was later located and arrested in Windsor with the help of the Windsor Police Service. The 36-year-old suspect is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, uttering threats and breach of recognizance. None of the charges have been proven in court.

A section of Manning Road was closed for approximately 90 minutes for the completion of the initial investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
