Spitfires decimate Greyhounds 10-4

Daniel D'Amico led the Windsor Spitfires to a big 10-4 victory over the Soo Greyhounds in OHL action on Friday.

Will Cuylle kicked off the game for Windsor with a goal 47 seconds into the first period, and D'Amico scored his first goal of the night just over two minutes after. The Greyhounds made it on the board just over eight minutes into the frame, but D'Amico responded with two back-to-back goals to give the Spitfires a 4-1 lead.

Egor Afanasyev extended Windsor's lead with a goal early in the second, but Sault Ste. Marie scored twice to reduce the deficit. The Spitfires ended the second period with an 8-3 lead after Cuylle scored twice to complete a hat-trick and D'Amico scored his fourth of the night.

Wyatt Johnston scored for Windsor halfway through the third and the Greyhounds got their final goal of the game with just two minutes left.  D'Amico capped off Windsor's win by scoring his fifth goal of the game in the final minutes.

Spitfires goaltender Xavier Medina made 30 saves out of 34 shots on net.

The Spitfires are back on the ice on Saturday when they head to Sudbury to battle the Wolves at 7:05 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
