Tentative agreement reached between ATU 616 and Transit Windsor

It will be business as usual for transit riders on Monday.

A strike has been averted after Transit Windsor and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 616 (ATU Local 616) reached a tentative agreement on Saturday.

Details of the agreement will be shared until both the union membership and Windsor City Council have ratified it. No date has been provided as to when the vote meeting will take place.

The union represents around 250 drivers, mechanics and support staff. The previous contract expired on September 30, 2019. ATU Local 616 gave the mandatory 72-hour strike notice to the transit provider on Thursday.
