Spitfires edge Battalion 3-2 in OT

The Windsor Spitfires defeated the North Bay Battalion 3-2 in overtime on Sunday afternoon.

The Spitfires' Luke Boka scored the first goal of the game 10:46 into the first period. Luke Moncada scored for the Battalion, tying up the game 17:16 into the frame.

Both teams failed to score in the second period.

Windsor's Grayson Ladd broke the tie scoring 4:15 into the third period. The Battalion's Mitchell Russell scored a penalty shot at 16:03 to put the game at another tie and force an overtime period.

Jean Luc-Foudy scored the game-winning goal for the Spitfires 1:45 into overtime.

Windsor goalie Xavier Medina saved 15 out of 17 shots on net.

The Spitfires will face off against the Oshawa Generals on Thursday. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
