Police arrest suspect soon after robbery

A 34-year-old Windsor man faces a charge of robbery after an incident downtown on Monday.

Just before noon, police investigated a robbery at a business on Ouellette between Wyandotte Street and Tuscarora Street.

Initial reports suggested the suspect was armed.

Once officers got a description of the suspect, they found him nearby and arrested him.

It turned out there was no weapon involved, but the suspect did gesture like he had one during the robbery.

Charges against James Turpin have not been proven in court.
