Generals double Spitfires 6-3

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 6-3 decision to the Oshawa Generals in a third period upset on Thursday.

Wyatt Johnston put Windsor on the board first with a goal 38 seconds into the opening period. The Generals tied the game by scoring early in the second, but Curtis Douglas scored twice to give the Spitfires a 3-1 lead heading into the final frame.

Oshawa surged ahead in the third by scoring two goals in less than four minutes to tie the game, and then another three unanswered goals in the remainder of the period to complete a comeback over Windsor.

Spitfires goaltender Xavier Medina made 14 saves out of 19 shots on net.

The Spitfires will look to bounce back when they travel to Flint on Saturday to battle the Firebirds at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
