Windsor man faces drug and firearm charges

A 53-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a bust by Windsor police.

Around 3 p.m. on Thursday, officers from the Emergency Services Unit located a man on Victoria Avenue and Wyandotte Street West and arrested him without incident. A loaded firearm, cash, and a significant quantity of illicit drugs were found on the man, including 300 grams of fentanyl.

Officers in the Drugs and Guns Unit (DIGS) obtained a search warrant Thursday for a motel on Howard Avenue, according to Constable Talya Natyshak. That warrant was executed Thursday as well.

Manuel Hernandez of Windsor is charged with one count each of possession of fentanyl and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, plus two counts of possession of hydromorphone for trafficking purposes.  He is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, along with numerous firearm and ammunition-related charges.

These charges have not been proven in court.
