Windsor Ward 7 residents go to the polls in April

Residents in Windsor's Ward 7 will vote for a new city councillor on April 27.

Windsor City Council agreed to hold a byelection during a special council meeting Monday afternoon.

Ward 9 Councillor Kieran McKenzie confirmed the details to BlackburnNews.com Tuesday morning.

Nominations for those interested in running to replace Irek Kusmierczyk open Tuesday and close March 31.

Kusmierczyk left the seat vacant when he was elected MP for Windsor-Tecumseh in last fall's federal election.

The city has budgeted $120,000 for the byelection.
