Vehicle strikes Tecumseh drugstore

Authorities are trying to determine how a vehicle ended up in the front window of a Tecumseh drugstore.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue responded to a call shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Tecumseh Road East and Manning Road. Somehow, a vehicle was driven onto the sidewalk in front of the business and shattered some of the front windows. The vehicle was removed from the scene within the hour.

Ontario Provincial Police Constable Jim Root told Blackburn News that an elderly woman suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. More details will be provided as they become available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
