UPDATE: One person hospitalized after Highway 3 crash near Cottam

One person has been rushed to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 near Cottam.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers and paramedics attended the scene shortly before 10 a.m. on Thursday, after a tractor trailer collided with a vehicle between Marsh Road and County Road 27.

The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

Highway 3 was closed in the area for several hours while police conducted an investigation. The highway was reopened to traffic at around 7:40 p.m.

The driver of the passenger vehicle has been rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
