UPDATE: One displaced in Elm Avenue house fire

Damage is pegged at around $125,000 following a house fire on Elm Avenue in Windsor.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service first reported the house fire on Elm Avenue near Grove Avenue just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

All residents were able to make it out of the house and no injuries have been reported. However, a cat perished in the fire and one person had been displaced.

A fire investigator had determined the blaze started in the kitchen but the cause of the blaze remains undetermined.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
