OPP looking for witnesses to fatal crash

Provincial police investigators are asking the public for help as they look for answers after a fatal crash last week.

Around 9:30 a.m. last Thursday, a car and tractor-trailer collided at the intersection of Highway 3 and County Road 27 (Belle River Road). William Hillman, 74, of Essex died in the crash.

Police closed the highway for several hours as they conducted their investigation. The OPP is now asking any witnesses to the collision that have not yet come forward to contact them at 519-723-2491.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
