Essex Fire is hiring firefighters

If you have always wanted to be a firefighter, the deadline to apply for a volunteer position with the Essex Fire and Rescue Services is coming up.

The deadline is less than a week away, on February 7.

Essex Fire is looking for firefighters for all three of its fire stations.

Applicants must live or work in the town already, and have access to a vehicle to respond to alarms and attend training sessions.

"Becoming a volunteer firefighter is a great chance to serve and help protect your community," said Fire Chief Rick Arnel. "It's also an opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience, which can help advance your career."

After February 7, successful applicants will follow the newly-updated recruitment schedule.

Testing and evaluation will be conducted in the region.

Interested applicants can visit Essex Fire and Rescue Services online.
