Crash in Colchester claims one life

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Colchester.

The OPP said it happened around noon Tuesday near the intersection of County Road 50 and Dunn Road. A pickup truck apparently left the roadway and struck a tree.

The lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending the notification of next-of-kin.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigators are on scene to determine how the incident took place.

County Road 50 between Dunn Road and Jackson Street was closed for several hours while an investigation was completed. The road was reopened around 5:30 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
