Young snowmobile driver struck by vehicle

A young child is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car while driving a snowmobile.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Sunday around 2 p.m. a mini-van travelling on County Road 46 struck the snowmobile that was being driven by the 10-year-old as it crossed the roadway.

The youth was taken to an area hospital by EMS.

County Road 46 was closed between Gracey Side road and Richardson Sideroad for approximately four hours as OPP investigated.

There is no word on if there are any charges pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
