Latest Ford recall includes police cruisers, Flex, Taurus, and Lincoln MKT models

Ford Canada is recalling 227,884 vehicles in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico because a part in the suspension could crack and cause a crash.

2013 to 2018 Ford Flex, Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Sedans, Ford Taurus SHO, and Lincoln MKT vehicles are flagged.

The trouble is the rear suspension toe link could fracture on vehicles that are exposed to "frequent full rear-suspension articulation" or "jounce and rebound."

The vehicles were all assembled at the Oakville Assembly Plant and the Chicago Assembly Plant.

So far, Ford has not had any reports of crashes or injuries because of the fault.

The recall impacts 15,281 vehicles in Canada, along with 211,207 in the U.S., and 1,396 in Mexico.

If your vehicle is among those recalled, the company recommends calling your dealer, which will replace the left and right-hand rear suspension toe links with new ones.
