Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in EC Row crash

Windsor police are looking for witnesses to a single-vehicle accident on the EC Row Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. just west of Banwell Road. The vehicle, a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox, appeared to have been driving westbound but was in the median between the east and westbound lanes between Lauzon Parkway and Banwell Road when police arrived.

The driver, the only person in the car, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The EC Row Expressway was closed in both directions until around 5 p.m. as police investigated. The car was towed from the scene for examination.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the car on the road prior to the accident to contact police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
