Windsor police investigate east side pharmacy robbery

Investigators are looking into an armed robbery at an east Windsor drugstore.

Officers responded to the business on Wyandotte Street East near Thompson Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Staff told police that a lone male entered the business, brandished a knife, and demanded that employees place drugs in a black duffel bag.

The suspect ran out after getting an unspecified amount of drugs and headed southbound on Prado Place. A witness then saw the male get into a black-coloured sedan, which drove eastbound on Ontario Street.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male with a deep voice, 5'6" tall and weighing 140 pounds with a slender build. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket, dark pants, a dark toque with the hoodie pulled up, sunglasses, dark gloves, and a dark bandanna covering his face.

The knife used in the robbery has not been recovered, according to Sergeant Steve Betteridge, and the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If you recognize the suspect, do not approach but call 911 immediately. Anyone with information is asked to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830, or Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
