Windsor police continue probe of Askin shooting

Investigators are looking for information into a shooting in Windsor over the weekend.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot on Askin Avenue near Pelletier Street around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. The victim was hospitalized with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police learned that a verbal altercation had taken place outside a home Askin Avenue just before the shooting occurred. After the incident, a black SUV was seen leaving the scene.

The Windsor police's and Forensic Identification Unit processed the scene, and investigators from the Major Crimes Unit conducted a neighbourhood canvass for witnesses and video surveillance.

The firearm used in this incident has not been recovered, and the investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
