Suspect photos released in east Windsor drugstore holdup

Investigators are continuing the search for a suspect in a pharmacy robbery last week.

Officers responded to a call at the drugstore on Wyandotte Street East near Thompson Boulevard at around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Employees told police that a lone male entered the building, brandished a weapon, and demanded that staff put drugs into a black duffel bag he was carrying.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of drugs, the man ran out and headed southbound on Prado Place. A witness then saw the male get into a black-coloured sedan, which drove eastbound on Ontario Street.

No one was injured in the incident.

Windsor police have released a pair of photos taken from the pharmacy's security camera system and have asked the public to take a look.

The man's face is not visible in the photos, but the suspect is described as a white male with a deep voice, 5' 6" tall, with a slender build, and weighing about 140 pounds. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket, dark pants, a dark toque with a hoodie pulled up, dark sunglasses, gloves, and a black bandanna over his face.

The weapon used in this incident has not been recovered, so police consider the suspect armed and dangerous.

If you recognize the suspect, do not approach. Call 911 immediately. Anyone with additional information should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-8477.
