Man charged four months after fatal collision

A man is now facing a charge in connection with a fatal crash that occurred several months ago in Kingsville.

The collision happened on the evening of October 25, 2019 on Road 7 East between North Talbot Road and Graham Side Road. The victim was identified by police as 37-year-old Remi Rioux of Leamington. Police said Rioux's vehicle collided head-on with a farm tractor.

On Monday, OPP announced that they have charged 46-year-old Robert Boyd of Ruthven with careless driving causing death.

Boyd is scheduled to appear in an Ontario courtroom on March 16 to answer to the charge.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
