UPDATE: HWY. 77 near Leamington reopened after crash

Essex County OPP have reopened a stretch of Highway 77 near Leamington after a collision involving four vehicles.

The incident occurred near Mersea Road 6 around 8:15 p.m Sunday. Members of the OPPs Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) closed Highway 77 between Mersea Road 5 and Road 7 to conduct an investigation.

Several occupants have been taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.

The highway reopened just after 5 a.m. Monday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
