Leamington teen struck in hit and run

The Ontario Provincial Police is looking for witnesses after a teenage girl was struck in a hit and run in Leamington.

Police say the girl was struck while crossing the street at the crosswalk on Elliott Street and Talbot Street West around 6:45 a.m. Monday. The white SUV or van immediately left the scene without stopping.

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Police believe the vehicle may have some front end damage and was last seen travelling northbound on Elliott Street.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or has information regarding the involved driver or vehicle is asked to contact the OPP at 519-326-2544.
